REPRESENTING USERS
- The SNUG Executive met four times virtually. The SNUG Executive discuss your GP IT issues and concerns with representatives from OneAdvanced, NSS IT and NHS Boards in attendance. Minutes can be found on the SNUG Website. If you have anything you need us to discuss on your behalf, please let me or your local SNUG rep know.
- Members of the SNUG Executive sit on many other groups and campaign on your behalf. These include the GPIT Service Management Board which supports the Re-provisioning Program, the Change Advisory Board (to prioritise changes to GPIT systems), Primary Care Reform Digital Board (to look at the investments to be made in GP computing which support improved working in General Practice and wider Primary Care), Primary Care Informatics Group and much more. We also participate in the GP IT Re Provisioning Group and the Docman 10 Programme Board to speak on behalf of SNUG members. You will have seen our letters seeking for your opinions.
- The Executive consists of Regional Representatives who bring your feedback and problems to our meetings to influence improvement across GPIT systems. We welcomed another four new Executive members in 2024/2025 bringing a new perspective to the group and fresh ideas. See more information on our Executive committee here.
GP IT REPROVISIONING SUPPORT
- SNUG have worked closely with OneAdvanced since their successful GPIT reprovisioning bid. With a shared focus on GPIT systems, SNUG provides user-centric feedback, acting as the voice of GP practices to influence further developments and provide training and migration support along with sharing experiences and best practice.
MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT
- SNUG Membership grew to 392 Practices in Scotland – an increase of 34 since 2020. Our events also continue to grow, with over 350 attendees at the November Virtual Meeting. The recordings downloaded from the day were the highest we had seen, with many Practices using the session again for training days.
- The SNUG Website will undergo an update and refresh in 2026. The website holds of information including Migration Updates, System supplier information, information on meeting dates and the very popular recordings from workshops, Conference sessions, SNUG Members Day and Regional Meetings.
- The SNUG Teams Channel offer practices a chance to ask questions and share best practice. If you aren’t yet on this group and would like to be added please contact Alex.
TRAINING
- SNUG added a new event for 2025 – Migration and Training Day. This was a huge success. Recordings from the sessions are available to all members on our website here to use as training in your practice.
- Workshops and conference sessions can count towards necessary CPD evidence for annual appraisals not just by knowledge gained but also in reflections, conversations with colleagues and taking back improvements to your practice.
- SNUG also created a series of Podcasts, this has been very well received and can be listened to virtually anywhere. Scottish National Users’ Group (SNUG) Podcast | snughealth (podbean.com)
